rest of the car is perfect!
all the reinforcment bars,/structure bars are straight! so thats good

im looking to buy another car, and this almost sounds perfect?

im guessing about 100$ for hood, front bumper cover, left fender,
im not to worried about the right fender, air bags,.

and i also can install all the things it needs to. just wanted to get a high price if the shop did everything. and i can get stuff from junk yard.. and can get a cuple parts cheap too just to let u know
(UPDATED)???????i think i can get these parts for the prices below
front bumper cover $=?30-80?
hood $=50-100
Left fender $= 50-100
Radiator support $= 50?
air bags $ = 40minimum?

used,new and/or just cheap
what do you think???/

I think $3300 is extremely steep for this vehicle in this condition. You just described another $3000 in repairs easily. Airbags are going to push $900, you can get body parts from a junk yard, but if there is unibody damage, they may not fit right. The radiator and condenser, along with the power steering cooler, will push another $1000. I would seriously consider taking that $3300 to a 2002 Malibu, paying it in full, and having a vehicle that hasn’t been wrecked this badly.

Okay if anyone knows this i will love them 4eva i hate CARS please help????

How much estimated would the auto repair be?

2003 Hyundai Elantra GLS, 5 Speed.

It needs two new tires,
The drivers side front ball joint replaced, by mechanic.
The Vent selector dial for the heat, A/C replaced.
Alignment

Adv rage costs of parts/ labor, etc.

You’ll pay $100 for two new tires.
An alignment will cost you about $60.
If its just the little plastic dial, it will cost you at most about $20.
The front ball joint I couldn’t tell you.
Call your local tire store and ask them. They’ll tell you.
I’d guess about $150 to $250

what to do when a auto dealership repairs a vehicle and damages it even more????

I TOOK MY GMC PICK UP TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR UNDER WARRANTY ON FIXING THE A/C VENT PROBLEM THEY DAMAGED THE DASH BY CAUSING IT TO TURN BLACK WHICH WAS TAN THE TOP LAYER IS MISSING THEN THEY TRIED TO COVER IT UP WITH TOUCH UP PAINT.. WHAT TO DO????
THEY ALSO REPLACE A SMALL SENSOR IN THE TOP OF THE DASH WHICH THEY SUPER GLUED INTO THE DASH AND THE BLACK LITTLE SENSOR IS NOW ALL WHITISH LOOKING AND THE GLUE IS EATING THE PLASTIC … WHAT TO DO????

Start at the dealer. Speak with the body shop manager os service manager. If you have to, work your way up to the General Manager, or even the owner. If this doesn’t work, contact GMC. Their phone number is in the bqack of your owner’s manual. If you call the BBB, they will not work with you until you have spoken to GMC anyway, so call GMC first. They will make an effort to resolve the concern (ask to speak to someone in America-specifically Portland, OR-because the new overseas sites don’t know what they’re doing yet and you will get nothing accomplished). Then, and only then, if your concern is not resolved satisfactorily, call the BBB-(800)955-5100-I think.

Is my car worth fixing?

I have 1993 Buick Regal Custom w/191k miles. The car completely shuts off almost every time I put my foot on the brake, the tires are bald, the a/c doesn’t work, I cant adjust the volume on the radio…the list goes on. I took my car to an auto shop and was given an estimate of at least $500 (not including a/c repair). Is this car worth fixing or should I just invest in a new vehicle? I really like the fact that I don’t have a car note but I don’t like the idea of investing my hard earned cash into a piece of crap!
I purchased this car for $1500.00 cash in Feb. 2005.

Sounds like you have already got your money’s worth out of this car. You have to look at cost to fix vs. the value of the car vs. its expected useful life after repairs. I think you’re close to the end of the road for this car. Find a good car with payments you can afford and you will be much better off than trying to fix this one.

I live in Columbus Ohio, and I need to find a CHEAP and RELIABLE auto body shop.?

Know of any good German Auto shops in D.C.?

I need a good shop. I have one at home and they are amazing and worth the cost.
But with moving I dread the experience of getting my car raped trying to find decent shops. I tried a plethora of shops at my hometown with both my old Porsche and my Audi wasting time money and having a hella lot of stress from idiots, liars, and mechanics that don’t give a damn. I know a good amount about cars for a girl, which people don’t think when they first see me. And I know when I am being lied to, I don’t want to waste time with people that think they can take advantage of me because I may appear to be young girl with money.
I love working on cars, and if I was good as repairs other than body work, and actually had time, or a shop to work in I would. But I don’t so I need a mechanic that comes with high recommendation.

Auto Body Repair shop scam. Please Read. 1996 Cavalier Z-24?

My wife wrecked her 1996 Chevy Cavalier Z-24, and we took it to this shady body shop called Jolley’s, and the damage needed to be repaired was the front end. my wife paid in installments, it took about 3 weeks, the guy charged $2,700. But he admitted to buying a front end off of a salvaged 2001 cavalier, and we went pick up the car today, and the bumper he put on it was one from a car that was a 2.0 , not the 2.4 L that our car was, and also one of the clear corner lights leaks water and has condensation on the inside, probably due to a scratch that is evident on the exterior of the lens. Don’t you think we deserve the parts to work "like new" even if they came off of a used car? I mean, for $2,700, he changed the hood, radiator, charged the A/C, changed the battery, headlights, corner lights, front bumper, hood latch, frame(radiator support), and painted 70% of the car black. Also changed 1 strut in the rear. Do you think I got a good deal? But shouldn’t the corner light not leak ?

I worked in a body shop for a while, and you got one hell of a deal. The light should work like you say. But believe me when I tell you the man isn’t making much money on this deal, it’s a lot of work and time. Just as an example, I have a 1998 Chev, Lumina. I bought a new hood and light. I took it and they installed the hood and light and painted the front end, it cost $1200.00. The hood and light was already paid for. so you got a deal if work was done right.

Auto Collision Repair Tech?

Does anybody know how much you make as an A.C.R.T? Thanks.

Not much now days…ever watch GEICO commercials?, they save you the money out of the collision repair techs pocket, the shop is NOT going to lose money. Most all collision repair shops pay their techs on a commission basis which the insurance companies control.

Sounds like a great job, but after a few years you realize it is a lot of work and not any fun. Ever hear of "cycle times", it is where the insurance company promises the repair in "x" amount of time and you must repair perfectly in that time or less.

Takes at least five years to stand on your own as a body tech and investment of $5-10 K in tools and equipment….I got out of the business after 25 years because I wanted a steady, predictable income.

Try college to get a job where you can wear clean clothes.

it’s very common to have paint thinner in an auto body repair shop.?

which would be the most effective way of extinguishing a puddle of thinner that catches fire

a. water hose
b. class c extinguisher
c. class b extinguisher
d. class a extinguisher

Class B is for flammable liquids.
